Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Frozenbyte has officially announced the release date of Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. The release date for the game is set for August 31st this year, and it will be available on all the major platforms.
A trailer was also released, which showcased Pontius the Knight, the Protector of the Realm, and one of the main characters in the Trine series. Pontius is described as ”a real frontline hero who always goes head first into battle to protect his friends.”
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is described as the series’ ”deepest and visually richest chapter to date.” The game will consist of an all-new cast of characters along with the main trio of Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight. A Clockwork Conspiracy will consist of twenty beautifully designed levels for players to explore solo or with a group of four in online or local co-op.
The puzzle system in Trine 5 has been updated and is said to have a great amount of replayability and dynamic physics. These will adapt according to the number of players facing them, as a group of four will have more difficulty solving these. The combat in the game is also said to be challenging for players as they face a variety of enemies, including the Clockwork Knights and the Rat Gang. In addition to this, the game’s skill quest system will allow players to try out various playstyles that will help them in different combat situations. They will also be able to enjoy the charming soundtrack featured in the game, each suited to a specific environment.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is set for release on August 31st on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
