Atelier Ryza 3 Reveals New Trailer, DLC Costumes, & Gameplay; Anime Series Announced

Today Koei Tecmo had news to share with the fans of the Atelier Ryza series including a new trailer of Workshop Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & Secret Key.

The trailer is fairly nostalgic, focusing on scenes from the first two games, and providing a chance to hear the full version of the theme song Kousaten (Crossroads) performed by Yuka Kondo.

You can watch it below, while you can also watch new gameplay including the first look at two inevitable sets of paid DLC costumes, “Endless Summer Splash” includes swimsuits and comes on the same day as the game, while Traveler of the Far East releases in May. You can check them out on the recording of the livestream aired today.

Perhaps even bigger news is that the series is getting an anime adaptation, based on the first game and bearing the same title “Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout,“it’s coming from Aniplex, produced by Linden Films.

Quite appropriately, it’ll be aired this summer and the voice cast of the game will reprise their roles. The series is directed by Ema Yuzuhira and the character design is by Tomoyuki Shitaya of “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma“famous.

The scenario writer of the game, Yashichiro Takahashi, will work on the storyboard, while composer Kazuki Yanagawa will take care of the music.

We thought we’d have to soon say goodbye to Ryza, since the third game is said to be her last, but looks like that was a premature assessment given the announcement of the anime series.

Below you can watch a trailer, while the official poster is at the bottom of the post.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & Secret Key was announced at Tokyo Game Show 2022 and is the sequel of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, originally released between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 across Japan and the west. It’s the ending of the first trilogy in the Workshop series to retain the same protagonist across all three games, since Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout launched in 2019. This is certainly a testament to Ryza’s popularity, also thanks to the charming character design by Toridamono.

The game has already gone gold and it will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 24, 2023.

Incidentally, recently we also heard more about Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg which will bring back the first game of the series and will mark its debut in the west since it was never localized before.
