Blizzard Has No Plans for Diablo 4 Release on Xbox Game Pass

In a recent tweet posted by the General Manager of Diablo Rod Fergusson, it has been brought to light that at this time Blizzard has no plan to bring Diablo 4 to Xbox Game Pass.

The tweet shared a little bit about people’s excitement about the beta upcoming release as well as the limited edition Wolf Pack Pup players will be able to receive by hitting level 20 during the test. Rod Fergusson then goes on to state that the company has been receiving frequent inquiries about the possibility of releasing Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft has been attempting to acquire Blizzard since January 18, 2022, and though things are somewhat on the backburner right now, it does leave room for questioning whether or not the latest installment of the Diablo series would be thrown into Game Pass. The answer was pretty clear from Fergusson, though, as he says that as of right now the company has no plans to bring the game to the service. That doesn’t mean that it will never happen, it just means that as of right now Blizzard isn’t planning on it.

It would be neat to see it on Game Pass someday, but for the moment, no dice. Blizzard has always had the same modus operandi when it comes to a game release. There are usually at least three different tiers of the game available for purchase that each come with perks such as mounts, pets, transmog, and extra goodies to look forward to. So it isn’t shocking that they would choose not to stray off the familiar release path they have been on for quite some time. Plus, there is already plenty to look forward to with Diablo 4 as it stands, such as the beta and its early access, and of course the pets and collectibles for being overzealous and buying the Ultimate Edition.

Diablo 4 is set to release on June 6, 2023, and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
