It seems Fallout 4 has recently received new deposits in SteamDB with the title ‘New Vegas 2’. These were recently added so it isn’t clear what these actually do with the 2010 Fallout game developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Fallout 4 will receive a current-gen update this year so it is probably related to it. There is a high probability that these New Vegas 2 depots refer to Creation Club items that will be available with the current-gen update.
Creation Club is essentially a paid mods platform by Bethesda which is available in Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. These mods were created by independent creators with funding provided by Bethesda. So, it might be that a version of Fallout: New Vegas was updated to the current-gen version of Fallout 4, and through the Creation Club, players can play it. And, as such, the new and improved version of New Vegas is dubbed ‘New Vegas 2’. Or, it could mean items like clothing, armor, and weapons from the game are bundled together as a paid mod.
Currently, a community-led project titled Fallout 4: New Vegas is aiming to create New Vegas in the Fallout 4 Creation Engine. It isn’t sure whether these repositories are related to that.
Another possibility could be a re-release of Fallout: New Vegas with a current-gen patch bundled. But, it is wishful thinking at best.
Fallout: New Vegas 2 – A possibility?
Obsidian Entertainment has expressed interest in making a follow-up to New Vegas. Back in January, New Vegas director Josh Sawyer is open to doing another game in the series. He noted that if a follow-up game does happen he’d like to do one in California or in the Midwest. He also said there is a possibility of a Fallout game outside of the US.
The New Vegas 2 depots do spark some speculation on what Bethesda is planning to do with them. But, we will have to wait and see.
