To participate in the XDefiant closed beta on PC, you’ll need to get your hands on a beta key. You can register at the XDefiant website to receive one by email. Delivery may take some time, so make sure to register as quickly as possible. Once you receive the key, you should redeem it on the official site using a desktop or laptop. Ubisoft Support has indicated some people are having trouble redeeming their key using mobile devices.

Initially, Twitch drops were a faster way to snag an XDefiant beta-key. You could watch a partnered streamer (out of a list of dozens) play the game for 30 minutes to secure a game access drop. Unfortunately, this option went away after 10AM (PDT) on April 15, which means you will typically need to secure your key through the site. However, you can still connect your Ubisoft account to your Twitch account and watch streamers to receive weapon skins.

A rewarding early look at XDefiant

  1. M4A1 “Disruption” Weapon Skin
  2. Kersey “Dungaree” Character Skin
  3. M870 “Cobalt” Weapon Skin
  4. XD-Style Emoji
  5. Magnum “Black & Bling” Weapon Skin
  6. MP7 “Graffiti” Weapon Skin
  7. MK20 “Pelagic” Weapon Skin
  8. De Rosa “Hi-Velocity” Character Skin
  9. MVP/Profile/KS “Hi-Velocity” Player Card
  10. MP5 “TechX” Weapon Skin

Progress will not carry over to later releases. Still, the XDefiant beta is a terrific chance to get a handle on the game sooner rather than later. It includes access to a number of maps, modes, and factions that should figure prominently in the final release.
