New Alone in the Dark Spotlight Might Happen Soon

A new Alone in the Dark Spotlight might happen soon according to industry insider Tom Henderson. In a tweet, he mentions that the spotlight will happen late next week. This implies that the spotlight might happen on Thursday the 25th or Friday the 26th.

Publisher THQ Nordic hasn’t announced anything regarding a spotlight for the horror game but Henderson’s reputation as an industry insider is something to definitely consider. THQ Nordic had already announced that the game would be present in the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase in August. But, we might get a look at the game a lot earlier now thanks to the Spotlight.

Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark was announced back in August 2022 as the latest game of the iconic horror game franchise. It is the seventh mainline entry in the series after 2015’s Alone in the Dark: Illumination. Pieces Interactive is currently developing the game. Due to the poor reception of Alone in the Dark: Illumination, the franchise was sold by Atari to THQ Nordic which then handed the development to Pieces.

The 1920s-era American South provides the gothic backdrop for Alone in the Dark, providing a noir setting with classic Lovecraftian horror elements. The original Derceto Mansion from the 1992 game returns in a revamped way, along with other Derceto-related locations. The original game’s main characters, Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby, can be played from a third-person over-the-shoulder perspective.

With an exciting setting like this, it would be a treat to play this game on current-gen consoles as it would take advantage of the hardware. The visual and horror experience can be stunning as other iconic horror franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. If the spotlight does happen, it would certainly build up the hype for the game.
