Redfall Will Launch on Xbox With Quality Mode Only

It has been revealed through the official Twitter account of Redfall that it will only feature a quality mode at launch. This new development is going to be a huge dealbreaker for those who have either preordered or were looking to play Redfall at launch. However, a 60 FPS Performance mode will be added to the game later.

Redfall Will Only Feature Quality Mode at 30 FPS at Launch

Redfall is less than a month away at this point. Amidst the huge hype around the title, fans will surely be disappointed with this new information. Both the Xbox series X and S will only feature quality modes and no performance mode at the launch. Following are the game settings on the consoles:

  • Xbox Series X: 4K at 30 FPS
  • Xbox Series S: 1440p at 30 FPS

The presence of quality mode only on Redfall is surely going to affect sales, especially at launch (Although it will be available on day 1 on Game Pass). This ideally makes a gaming PC the best option to play the title. Redfall is considered as Microsoft’s flagship launch of the year along with Starfield. Considering how Sony implemented 60 FPS even with God of War Ragnarok at launch, this is a major letdown. When the update with performance mode will arrive, remains a question at this point.

However, this also arises concerns for Starfield. If Arkane could only manage quality mode on Redfall at launch, will the same go for Starfield? or will Bethesda be able to work their magic? Well, to find that we will have to wait for an official word. Redfall launches on May 2, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass.
